Vidya Balan praises ‘Begum Jaan’ director
On-screen character Vidya Balan has commended her “Begum Jaan” chief Srijit Mukherji, expressing gratitude toward him for being an exemplification of “resolute core interest”.
“Much obliged to You Srijit Mukherji for this, for ‘Begum Jaan’ and for being the genuine encapsulation of ‘determined Focus’,” Vidya tweeted on Wednesday night.
“Begum Jaan”, a Hindi adjustment of Mukherji’s stellar Bengali offering “Rajkahini”, stars Vidya ahead of the pack. She plays a house of ill-repute’s madam in Punjab amid India’s Partition in 1947.
Created by Vishesh Films and Play Entertainment, “Begum Jaan” imprints Mukherji’s directorial debut in Hindi movies.
Vidya will likewise be found in the spin-off of the 2012 thriller film “Kahaani”, which has been shot in Kalimpong in West Bengal. “Kahaani” rotated around a pregnant lady named Vidya Bagchi who goes to Kolkata from London to scan for her missing spouse.
