Shakira’s ‘Waka Waka’ song crossed one billion views

Colombian pop star Shakira’s song ‘Waka Waka‘ is still a superhit. It has passed the one billion views milestone on YouTube. The song and the video that changed my life,” Shakira tweeted.

‘Waka Waka’ was the official theme song of 2010 FIFA World Cup. Shakira is the latest star to join coveted billionaire club on YouTube and only the third Latin artist to achieve the impressive feat, following in the steps of Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk” and “Bailando” by Enrique Iglesias.

Shakira expressed in twitter that, the song and the video has changed her life because she met Spanish soccer star Gerard Pique for first time while shooting the video and fell in love with him in the spring of 2010. The couple have been together since and become parents to two sons, three-year-old Milan, and Sasha.
