Talking about the display, Micromax Evok Note offers High Definition Resolution with 5.5-inch display and 2.5D curved glass on top for great clarity & protection. Also, you get a fingerprint sensor integrated on a clickable button at the bottom of the screen.

The fingerprint sensor works in-sync with Secure Vault; it is an app provided by Micromax to protect your photos, documents and other data from unauthorized access.

All in the all the phone offers nothing over the top; just a basic design with minimum buttons. All the buttons like volume controls and power switch are easily accessible, placed on the left side. Whereas, the bottom bezel is for placing the speaker grill and Micro USB port, and headphone jack is at the top.

Camera

Micromax Evok Note houses two camera – 13-megapixel in the rear and 5-megapixel in the front. The camera module is at the back panel with the flash placed right above it, vertically. The rear camera has smile detection, gesture capture, panorama and nine different filters. Apart from this, you also get various scene modes – Night, Sunset, Auto, Party, Theatre, Portrait, Beach and many more to enhance the user’s experience.

The photographs clicked through this phone carry a blue hue mainly because of the display’s colour reproduction; nonetheless, the quality is highly satisfactory. Though there is a little bit of under-saturation in the tones of colours, the touch sensitivity is extremely satisfying.

Connectivity & Storage

This smartphone offers internal storage of 32GB, of which 23 GB is usable. You can expand the internal memory with the help of microSD card. As far as the connectivity is concerned, Micromax Evok Note has Bluetooth, FM, dual SIM facility, Wi-Fi and VoLTE. There is also a provision for inserting two SIM cards in the hybrid tray placed at the left side.

Software & Hardware

If you want a smartphone, which does not face any performance issue; which does not leave you hanging in the middle of some important work, Micromax Evok Note is the phone for you. It is backed by a MediaTek MT6753 octa-core chipset, which is paired with 3GB of RAM, which smoothly takes care of multitasking. However, if you switch to the monochrome mode from the quick setting panel, you may face some issues with the screen animation.

 

The mode turns the screen into black and white, a feature that is commonly found in Apple devices. However, the phone is loaded with one too many notifications which can be annoying while watching a movie or show. However, there is a way to turn that feature off, by going into Settings and turning them off manually for every application. There is a pre-installed application Sacandid which lets you compare different prices of the phone, and is a great plus point.

You get the phone with Android 6.0 Marshmallow and several pre-loaded apps like games, Gaana, Opera Mini, Oyo, Amazon Kindle. What can turn out to be a surprise is an app on PM Narendra Modi that will inform you about the latest events and news by the PM.
