Jyoti Kumari, 15 yrs old young girl from Bihar who came into limelight after she had to cycle from Gurugram to Darbhanga covering more than 1200 km to reach home in seven days with her ailing father amidst a nationwide lockdown in May 2020.
Just before lockdown, Jyoti Kumari’s father Mohan Paswan, who is an e-rickshaw driver meet with a minor accident and got injured. Jyoti Kumari had gone to Gurugram to take care of his ailing father.
Due to the lockdown extension, the father and daughter were left with little option when their landlord asked them to vacate their room. Then she decides to pedal back home.
Her heroic action has also impressed US President Donald Trump`s daughter and adviser Ivanka Trump.
Her mother works as an Aanganwadi worker in Darbhanga. Jyoti kumari has four younger siblings.
She becomes world-famous after she reached her home. Soon after this, a life-changing opportunity knocked on her door.
The Cycling Federation of India wanted to give her a trial at the IGI Stadium complex in New Delhi. But, she turned down an offer saying she wants to focus on education.
Darbhanga DM Dr Tyagarajan SM has promised her to help in further study.
Now, Jyoti Kumari is all set to be the protagonist in a film about her journey. The film to be titled ‘Atmanirbhar‘ (Self Reliant) under the banner of WemakeFilmz.
The film will be shot in real locations that were part of Jyoti’s journey from Gurugram to Darbhanga.
